The Scottish Rite is comprised of four bodies that govern twenty-nine degrees beyond the three Craft degrees. Haverhill is home to two these bodies, a Lodge of Perfection, and a Council of Princes of Jerusalem. These bodies meet together as the Valley of the Merrimack, and hold Reunions on the second Thursday of the month.
The degrees of the Scottish Rite build upon the firm foundations of symbolic Freemasonry. The core values of the Scottish Rite are reverence for God, integrity, justice, toleration, devotion to country, and service to humanity. To qualify for membership, a man must be a member of good standing in a regular Masonic Lodge.
