For many years the only way to become a Mason was to know one and ask him. There was once a bumper sticker that read, “2B1ASK1.” Things have changed a bit. Though we don’t actively recruit members, we hold open houses and more public events to increase our visibility in the community. You may know a Freemason. He might have even suggested that you consider the fraternity, but that’s about as far as he will go. It is crucial that any man seeking admittance to this Fraternity come to that decision on his own.

If you possess these four qualities, you meet the basic requirements to become a Freemason.

The first step beyond this is to contact a lodge. In Haverhill, we have two. Saggahew Lodge, (which meets on the 3rd Monday of each month) and Merrimack Lodge, (which meets on the 1st Wednesday.)
