On December 27, 2023, Right Worshipful James Fergola, one of Saggahew Lodge’s most active Masons, was installed as the District Deputy Grand Master of the Massachusetts 11th Masonic District.  Brother Fergola has been a Master Mason for almost 12 years and served as Master of Saggahew Lodge in 2018.  He has been an active Mason from day one, and is also an active  member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite bodies.

It is the role of the District Deputy Grand Master (often referred to informally as the “D.D.”) to be the personal representative of the Grand Master in each of the 36 districts around Massachusetts.  It is this Brother’s duty to visit the lodges within his district at least twice per year for various reasons ranging from ensuring that each lodge is upholding the standards expected of it, to making special presentations on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.  The District Deputy assembles a group of Masons from his district to run a variety of programs.  Some are educational programs for new Masons as they advance through their degrees and others are to help Lodge officers perform their duties optimally.  Other programs support the various communities that comprise the 11th Masonic District made up of six lodges that are spread across the Merrimack valley from Newburyport to Andover.

We look forward to supporting RW Brother Fergola throughout his term!
